Philippe Parreno: The Yeast and The Host

For his exhibition at Museo Jumex, the artist presents an expanded proposal over two floors. Bringing together new, existing and re-edited works, Parreno overlaid them to produce different realities and experiences in an ever-changing composition.
The main work on view is “Anywhen”, Parreno’s Tate Modern Hyundai Commission 2016 in London, which representsthe control centre. Here a bioreactor breeds yeast connected to a computer.
