Roni Horn
The exhibition features a collection of some of the most emblematic works by artist Roni Horn, who presents here her first solo show in Mexico. The works selected deal with concepts of pairing and doubling, expressed through different media, namely photography, sculpture and drawing. Horn’s pieces are usually characterised by fluid features, often referring directly to the element of water, as in her glass sculptures. For the occasion, four of these pieces are exhibited at kurimanzutto, along with other aluminum and plastic sculptures with written verses by Emily Dickinson, establishing connections both between each other and with the surrounding space. Finally, photography from the series “a.k.a.” (2008–09) investigate topics of pairing and doubling, exploring the different notions of identity and its transformations.
