Rodrigo Hernández works with the traditional forms of artistic creation such as drawing, sculpture and painting. Hernández presents in this exhibition at Kurimanzutto a new body of work where the oscillation between drawing and sculpture, and representation and abstraction, results in the combination of elements from two principal sources: on one hand, the illustrations created by Mexican artist Miguel Covarrubias for his book El arte indígena de México y Centroamérica. On the other hand, the elements of the formal vocabulary of Futurism.
