Upfront
“A new worldwide disorder began after September 11th. In this disorder the most international generation of Hispanic photojournalists in history was born” says Ramiro Villapadierna, curator of the exhibition, who covered as a reporter the revolutions and conflicts in Central Europe and the Balkans and today directs the Cervantes Institute in Frankfurt.
“Upfront” – produced and financed by the Spanish Cooperation with the collaboration of the Conde Duque Cultural Center in Madrid – brings together the work of prestigious photographers – men and women – who cross closed borders, get in the middle of armed conflicts, go where people flee and are able to leave their mark on the front pages of the press all over the world and reap the award and recognition of global journalism.
