Art after Stonewall, 1969-1989

The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum, Miami, hosts the comprehensive survey Art after Stonewall, 1969-1989, including more than 200 works focused on the influences of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBTQ) liberation movement on art and visual culture.
The collective exhibition opens on the year of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots of 1969, exploring the topic through a wide array of performances, films, paintings, sculptures, photographs, and more, complemented by a huge selection of historical documents, magazines, and newspapers. The artists involved are whether openly LGBTQ or engaged with the emerging queer subcultures.
