The Writing on the Wall: Hank Willis Thomas and Dr. Baz Dreisinger

The Writing on the Wall: Hank Willis Thomas and Dr. Baz Dreisinger is an installation including essays, poems, letters, stories, diagrams, and notes produced by individuals incarcerated around the world. All these pieces have been collected over the years by Professor Baz Dreisinger, during his activity of teaching in prisons. The exhibition is part of the For Freedoms programme and platform, initiated by artists Hank Willis Thomas and Eric Gottesman, to actively engage artists in social issues. In fact, the collaborative installation’s goal is to highlight the prison crisis in the US and the Western prison system based on a growing phenomenon of mass incarceration.
