Wade Tullier: It was a Dream It is a Flood
Primary presents "It was a Dream It is a Flood," a selection of new large-scale ceramics by artist Wade Tullier.
This exhibition marks Tullier‘s second solo show with the gallery, further exploring the generational narrative and hierarchical proportion related to his familial identity.
In response to his upbringing, Wade Tullier treats his works like characters in an allegory, organizing objects and combining them into poetic columns for contemplation. These stacks, adorned with bright colors and essential forms, draw from his personal history living in the bayous of southern Louisiana.
“It was a Dream It is a Flood” is Tullier‘s most significant work, displaying human-sized sculptures that are the pillars of his character. A journal dedicated to the fairy-tale traditions of his heritage. A shared narrative that peeks at where we once were but does not hint at where we might be going or what the state of the path we are on is.
