What Carried Us Over: Gifts from Gordon W. Bailey

The collective exhibition celebrates the multiple donations by the Los Angeles-based collector Gordon W. Bailey to the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) from 2016 on.
“What Carried Us Over: Gifts from Gordon W. Bailey“ features a selection of the gifted pieces, including a spectrum of artists working through very diverse media, from painting to drawing, and sculpture. Of the 28 artists represented, all but two are new acquisitions in the museum’s collection.
The exhibition gathers them under the common topic of their strive to carry over their original practices, despite life’s obstacles and the fact that most of them didn’t receive any formal artistic education.
