The project by Assab One founder Elena Quarestani, curated by Marco Sammicheli, consists in three exhibitions connecting three artists – an architect, a painter and a designer – into a vivid exchange. Each work is displayed in a different, yet connected space, that promote a shared, energetic and open interaction, and allows the artists individually and jointly to investigate and experiment with the blending of languages and the overlaying of meanings.
The three exhibitions are presented over two floors of the Assab One spaces, which have been partly renovated for this event.
Each artist has produced new works dedicated especially to this exhibition. Bijoy Jain‘s “Water, Air, Light” presents paintings and sculptures, applying to art the methods of research and processes that characterize his work as architect. “Shapes and shades” by painter Chung Eun Mo displays her ability to individualize and transform the empty space into a canvas for her personal language. The designer George Sowden uses parts of his industrial productions and alters them to his own vocabulary to create the impressive installation “The Heart Of The Matter”.
