Andrea Bocca: Ukiyo

FuturDome presents "Ukiyo", Andrea Bocca's first solo exhibition in Milan inspired by Hiroshige

FuturDome, Via Giovanni Paisiello 6, Milan, Italy

Andrea Bocca is a 23 years old artist who always had a strong interest in architecture and abandoned sites. At the age of 15 he starts to express himself through street art and, as of today, he became a tier of the minimalism movement.

The exhibition Ukiyo is a path that takes place in the attics of the building, proposing a new series of sculptures, incorporated in highest and brightest part of FuturDome, inspired by the Japanese artist Hiroshige (1797-1828). The word ukiyo-e literally means images from a floating world and originates from the Buddhist concept of the illusion of earthly existence and the exhibition’s title is inspired as well by the publication of Hiroshige’s “Fifty Stations of the Tokaydo (1832-1834)”.
