Andrea Branzi: Civilizations without jewels have never existed

10 Corso Como Gallery, Corso Como, 10, 20154 Milano MI

10 Corso Como dedicates an exhibition to Italian architect, designer, historian, and theorist Andrea Branzi, one year after his passing, celebrating his radical vision and works. “Civilizations Without Jewels Have Never Existed”, curated by Alessio de’ Navasques, runs at the 10 Corso Como Gallery from 18 December 2024 to 16 February 2025.

Recipient of three Compasso d’Oro awards, including one for his career, Branzi was a multifaceted and radical figure known for his forward-thinking approach, blending applied arts, domestic and urban spaces with exceptional sensitivity.

Staged in collaboration with Nicoletta Morozzi, Lorenza Branzi, Casa Argentaurum, and Friedman Benda galleries, the exhibition presents a seamless dialogue between works, documents, drawings, and photographs. In the bright, expansive spaces of the 10 Corso Como Gallery, the installation spans pieces from the mid-1980s to Branzi’s latest creations from 2023.

This tribute forms part of 10 Corso Como’s broader programme of exploring applied arts through artist and designer archives. It continues a thematic journey into jewellery and ornament as cultural figures, following the exhibition Pietro Consagra. Ornamenti.
