Berthand Lavier: Hier,Oggi

Massimo De Carlo gallery in Milan presents ‘Hier, Oggi’ a solo exhibition by the French Artist Bertrand Lavier (1949, Châtillon-sur-Seine, based in Paris and Burgundy).

Lavier is best known for his readymades, created by covering everyday objects with a layer of paint in order to veer them towards a critique of visual habitualisation, consumerism and art institutions. Decidedly critical of the fetishisation of art as an object, ironically Lavier only ever sees his work complete in the context of an exhibition where the works only take on a meaning in relationship and juxtaposition to the others.
