Costanza Candeloro: Envy & Gratitude

Martina Simety Gallery presents Costanza Candeloro’s first solo exhibition: Envy & Gratitude.

The exhibition is articulated in a process of editing and re-writing specific cultural phenomena that the artist has experienced in her growing up. Candeloro’s interest has critically focused on a series of binarisms in which – both teen magazines and theoretical trends – have at the same time recognised the exclusive code of that era. The works on show are a personal reinterpretation of this set of signs, phonemes, and gestures, the living grammar of the transition to the 2000s, a founding system but one that has been removed from contemporary life.
