Dancing at the Edge of the World

“Dancing at the Edge of the World” brings together the five finalists of the eighth edition of the Arnaldo Pomodoro Sculpture Prize — Bronwyn Katz, Dan Lie, Yu Ji, Trương Công Tùng, and Luana Vitra — in a group exhibition at Fondazione ICA Milano. Curated by Federico Giani and Chiara Nuzzi, the show presents newly commissioned works that engage with the architecture of the space, reflecting contemporary sculptural research at the intersection of human, ecological, and social concerns.

The exhibition highlights sculpture as a dynamic, relational practice: not static objects, but living entities that interrogate materiality, time, and the body. Each artist explores unique approaches — from Katz’s geological-human memory, Vitra’s mineral subjectivity, Ji’s temporal-material organism, Lie’s non-human co-authored ecosystems, to Trương’s immersive synthesis of interpenetrating dimensions — revealing new morphologies of contemporary experience.

By foregrounding experimental practices that redefine the relationship between matter, environment, and imagination, Dancing at the Edge of the World offers an overview of current international trends in sculpture and reaffirms the Arnaldo Pomodoro Sculpture Prize’s mission to support research and innovation in contemporary artistic practice.

Supported by Venini, the main partner, and IGPDecaux, media partner, the exhibition will be accompanied by a publication by Lenz Press (May 2026).
