Elisabetta Catalano. Cinema, Moda e Performance

Viasaterna presents “Elisabetta Catalano. Cinema, Moda e Performance”, a solo exhibition curated by Laura Cherubini in collaboration with Archivio Elisabetta Catalano. Through a selection of more than fifty works, primarily vintage prints, the exhibition traces the artistic journey of the photographer Elisabetta Catalano (1944–2015). The display highlights her role as a witness to her time, documenting the performances of artists such as Jannis Kounellis, Joseph Beuys, and Fabio Mauri.

The images testify to a privileged relationship with the arts, often featuring artworks, architecture, and stage sets within the photographic frame. While the photographer is widely recognised for her portraits of cultural figures, including artists, actors, and fashion designers, this exhibition also focuses on her documentary work. The presentation illustrates a period defined by the cross-pollination of fashion, art, and design.
