Fausta Squatriti: Se il mondo fosse quadro, saprei dove andare…

Gallerie d’Italia, Piazza della Scala, 6, Milan, Italy

The exhibition is an homage of the city of Milan to the artist, which was born here in 1941. She had one great mission in her life: build up contact with a special artist capable of anticipatory intuitions of subsequent trends.

The exhibition is held from February to April in collaboration with Triennale di Milano and Nuova Galleria Morone, whereas Gallerie d’Italia presents works by the artists which are part of the collection of the bank Intesa Sanpaolo and the artist’s personal collection.

The display includes black sculptures made between 1972 and 1985, and artworks made in the 1980s which have never been exhibited in Italy before, and that show the artist’s examination of the physiology of the image. This project concerns the analysis of the use of geometry and arithmetic forms. The sculptures and paintings generate complex puzzles and thereby visualize the artist’s discussion with transformations of forms, presenting that every possible construction has an unpredictable destiny.
