Focus: Tommaso Arnaldi e Francesca Pionati
The event offers an insight into the collaborative research of Tommaso Arnaldi and Francesca Pionati, who have worked together since 2021 at the intersection of visual practices, installation, and research.
Arnaldi’s practice investigates communicative structures and infrastructures of power, analysing their spatial and urban dimensions to highlight their social impact. Using memory and archives, he constructs narratives that question the relationships between governance, collectivity, and freedom.
Pionati works across publishing, sculpture, installation, and moving image. She explores the aesthetic and political intersections between urban infrastructure and systems of governance, with a particular focus on urban geographies and post-disaster contexts in Italy. The project continues in May with a residency at Casa degli Artisti and concludes in autumn with a solo exhibition at the Foundation.
