Focus Valentino Vago

A solo exhibition offers a comprehensive overview of the life and practice of the Italian artist Valentino Vago

Museo del Novecento, Piazza Duomo, 8, Milan, Italy

The exhibition represents a focus on Valentino Vago, one of the most outstanding Lombard abstract painters of the twentieth century. Three canvases are on view alongside archival materials to highlight the key elements of his paintings: light and colour. Two of them are property of the City of Milan, namely “Composizione [Composition]” from 1961 and “S.R.76” (Il sole) [The Sun] from 1984, the third is “R.10 – 169” from 2010, recently donated to the museum by the Valentino Vago Archives.
The exhibition is the first in a series of events to enhance the works donated to the museum over the years and not displayed in the permanent collection due to the lack of space.
