Fontana-Alviani: Ceramica e Alluminio

On the occasion of miart 2016, Galleria Tonelli presents the exhibition “Fontana-Alviani: Ceramica e Alluminio”.

A dialogue between two great artists of the twentieth century, which focuses on the investigation and the use of two specific materials: ceramics and aluminum.
The work of Lucio Fontana dedicated to ceramics, which is attracting in recent decades a growing interest, are a constant in his varied artistic production: on display a selection of works ranging from the works from the baroque language, the religious theme, to Spatialists works.
In the gallery also aluminum works by Getulio Alviani made between 1960 and the end of the seventies.
Engaged for more than forty years in the investigation of materials and in their organization at scheduled systems, his research is realized in surfaces Texture vibrating, aluminum floors milled, organized and modular compounds that create structures with changing images according to the refraction of light, in which the construction of the visual is conducted in a well-determined rules scope, of relationships, of reasons.
