FOS: Small White Man
The Danish artist Thomas Poulsen, also known as FOS, presents a double performance at FuturDome, Milan in the framework of the project Small White Man.
The ongoing Small White Man project started in 2010 and is developing in Milan, with two performances in date 14 and 18 of April 2020. A temporary architectural intervention turned part of FuturDome and San Celso’s Church into recording music studios where the artist records the second album of the project, a musical elegy based on a ‘conducting’ framework for musical improvisations through a simple system of coloured light bulbs that are switched on and off by the artist.
“Compare this to a social event where an architectural frame establishes the cultural values and costumes. What sets it off into what is impossible to calculate, is each participant’s references and reactions to the situation, and others’ re-reactions leading it into a myriad of causalities. Nothing becomes something by itself.”, says the Artist.
