Giulio Paolini: Il Mondo Nuovo

The exhibition is the first solo presentation by the artist Giulio Paolini at Palazzo Belgioioso, in Milan. The exhibition’s title “Il Mondo Nuovo” (The New World) draws inspiration from the fresco by the Venetian artist Giandomenico Tiepolo (1727-1804), representing a crowd of curious people waiting to access a magic lantern which project images of exotic locations. Paolini’s work investigates the same curiosity for the unknown and the future as in Tiepolo’s artwork. All the pieces on view are connected by the same obsession for the passing of time in the author’s life and the history of art.
