Guido Guidi: Da un’altra parte
10 Corso Como presents “Da un’altra parte”, a solo exhibition by Guido Guidi, curated by Alessandro Rabottini.
This extensive show explores Guidi’s photographic work through the theme of shadow—seen as the interplay of light, space, and time, three central elements of his artistic research.
“Da un’altra parte” features works from the early 1970s to 2023. Although Guidi typically presents his photography in series, this exhibition highlights individual images chosen for their poetic and formal resonance. Portraits, still lifes, and architectural shots are shown together, transcending genres and chronology.
Born in Cesena in 1941, Guido Guidi is an internationally acclaimed photographer. Since the 1960s, he has developed a poetic yet analytical approach to landscapes, architecture, and everyday scenes. His images draw attention to overlooked and non-monumental aspects of our surroundings, turning the ordinary into something tactile and timeless. Guidi advocates for a “poetics of attention,” where seeing is never passive but a conscious, layered act—shaping generations of photographers with his subtle yet influential style.
