Kenji Ide / Nicola Martini

Clima presents a double solo exhibition by Japanese artist Kenji Ide (b. 1981, Yokosuka) and Italian artist Nicola Martini (b. 1984, Florence). Drawing on the fragmented setting of an abandoned backyard alley, the practices of Ide and Martini converge in a dark scenario of material presences, suggesting the remains of a hidden gathering. Martini re-enacts his ongoing work “Sippe”, a photosensitive tar that activates the gallery walls and their traces, in dialogue with Ide’s precise sculptural threads.
