Luca Pancrazzi: Mi disperdo e proseguo lasciandomi indietro un passo dopo l’altro…

Assab One continues its programme dedicated to the care of the local territory and its relationship with the neighbourhood with a site-specific work by Luca Pancrazzi installed on the main façade of its venue in Via Assab 1, Milan. Previous interventions include Nathalie Du Pasquier’s wall drawing on the façade of Via Benadir (2020) and Studio Ossidiana’s Giardino delle intersezioni at Parco Trotter (2022).

Pancrazzi’s installation extends for 38 metres across the building façade and features the phrase: “Mi disperdo e proseguo lasciandomi indietro un passo dopo l’altro…”. Composed of 513 polychrome ceramic elements (CMYK), the work accompanies passers-by along the street, transforming the façade into an urban sign of reflection and identity while also referencing the building’s past as the headquarters of GEA – Grafiche Editoriali Ambrosiane through the colour codes of printing.

The work is realised within the project La Quinta stagione, supported by the Laboratorio di Creatività Contemporanea promoted by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture.

On the same evening, a solo exhibition by Luca Pancrazzi opens inside Assab One, presenting works from the last twenty years united by the recurring motif of the horizon. The exhibition is accompanied by a limited-edition leporello with a text by Alessandro Rabottini.
