Mathilde Rosier: Impersonal Empire, The Buds
Galleria Raffaella Cortese presents the third solo exhibition by the French artist Mathilde Rosier at the gallery in Via Stradella 7 . The multidisciplinary artist uses painting, performance, music and video to explore themes such as the psychological and physical experiences of ancient rites and rituals. For this exhibition she has produced a video and put on show some large oil paintings, in order to create a space to meditate upon the canvases. The artist says “one should look at the paintings like in a movie theatre, sitting down, forgetting about their body, forgetting about time.”
The exhibition runs parallel to her project Figures of Climax of The Impersonal Empire for Fondazione Guido Lodovico Luzzatto, which takes place in the home of the Milanese scholar and art critic (March 13th – May 6th). As well in concurrence to her participation in the group show on at Castello di Rovoli’s show Metamorfosi (March 5th – June 24th).
Tue – Sat 10am – 1pm, 3pm – 7:30pm
