Matilde Cassani: Se Turi Fosse
“SE TURI FOSSE” is the first chapter of an annual project promoted by the Fondazione Archivio Turi Simeti, leading up to the artist’s centenary in 2029. For this inaugural edition, Matilde Cassani interacts with Turi Simeti’s work within the space that served as his studio and home, which now houses the Martina Simeti gallery.
The project highlights a lesser-known dimension of Simeti’s research, where the dialogue with space extends beyond the surface of the shaped canvas. It explores experiments and projects that expand his artistic language. The collaboration with Matilde Cassani proposes a journey through the domestic environment to reveal private aspects of the artist’s thinking, alongside a personal dimension linked to the space where Simeti lived for over thirty years with the Brazilian artist Essila Burello Paraiso.
