Micol Assaël: Eddy Current
The exhibition Eddy Current presents three works ideally in dialogue with each other, that develop epistemological issues.
Tuner, 2015 is a sculpture in wood, copper, pumice, wax and string that analyzes the structure of the devices with which sound or visual frequencies are tuned.
Amperologia, 2015 is a book of ink drawings on old papers began in 2007 and bound according to the Japanese method nobiro gajo. The covers are fixed with magnets that create a tension through the pages when the book is closed. This is the second in a series of five volumes.
Gli sconosciuti, 2014-2015 is a sound installation designed to integrate into a skylight of the Bozar in Brussels, designed by the Belgian architect Victor Horta. Some assemblies of beeswax and paper on a glass holder are suspended upside down, presenting an imaginary urban topography. The paper is held together only by the wax hexagonal matrix which is used in the hives, the sound of a bee flying incessantly draws the empty space.
