Milano Città Mondo #02 China

The museum presents results from an active research, using both public and private archives, to investigate and document the history of the Chinese community in Milan.

The research was executed by The Museum of Cultures with Networks and Cultural Cooperation Office of the Municipality of Milan, in collaboration with the Forum of the World City, who annually dedicate a focus to one specific international community living in Milan.

This years exhibition depicts the development of the Chinese community in Milan from 1906, when Chinese traders attended to the International Exhibition of Sempione,  up to the present day. Accommodating the exhibition, MUDEC has scheduled a series of activities including conferences, exhibitions, films and special guided tours, in collaboration with the Confucius Institute of the University of Milan, with Docucity and with the support of associations representing the Chinese community in Milan.

The exhibition is curated by Daniele Brigadoi Cologna, sinologist and researcher, in collaboration with the artist Matteo Demonte
