Missoni: Home Sweet Home an Environment by Alessandra Roveda

Angela Missoni has commissioned visionary artist Alessandra Roveda a major site specific installation for Missoni Showroom in via Solferino 6, Milan.

For the occasion she conceived an all-encompassing project, a magical fairy-tale interior covered in every part of colorful jersey. In her practice, Alessandra Roveda transforms the habitat into an enveloping and involving, sensual, colorful and soft experience that assigns the role of absolute protagonist to the jersey. Alessandra Roveda’s artistic practice highlights many points of contact with the Missoni language, articulating endlessly colored threads and crochet stitches in what appears to be a pictorial texture sui generis. A world that is surprisingly revisited and transfigured, in which reality becomes a fairy tale, a plot of imaginary and playful surreal presences and  recognition in the sphere of personal memories.
