Neon Paradise: Shamanism from Central Asia

The Gallery Laura Bulian is presenting the exhibition “Neon Paradise. Shamanism from Central Asia” dedicated to the post-Soviet shamanic practices in contemporary art of Central Asia. The exhibition features videos, different installation works and photographs by Vyacheslav Akhunov (Uzbekistan, 1948), Said Atabekov (Kazakhstan, 1965), Ismalieva Saodat (Uzbekistan, 1981), G.Kasmalieva & M.Djumaliev (Kyrgyzstan, 1960 and 1965) and Alexander Ugay (Kazakhstan, 1978).
Also on display will be a preview of the original documents of performative Kazakh group Kyzyl Traktor, founded in Shimkent in 1991 by artists Said Atabekov, Smail Bayaliev, Moldakul Narymbetov, Arystanbek Shalbayev and Vitaliy Simakov
