Per filo e per segno. Percorsi di arte tessile in Italia: Antonio Marras

“Per filo e per segno. Percorsi di arte tessile in Italia”, an exhibition project curated by Alberto Fiz, bringing together twelve Italian artists from different generations to reflect on contemporary textile practices. The programme unfolds over twelve months through a series of individual installations, featuring works such as tapestries, garments, installations, sculptures and site-specific projects.

Within this framework, the fourth chapter is dedicated to Antonio Marras, on view from 10 April to 6 May 2026. His presentation forms part of a broader curatorial structure that develops as a continuous and evolving sequence of interventions, each contributing to a wider investigation into textile language.

The project examines the renewed relevance of textile art, emphasising its capacity to reintroduce materiality and the body within a context shaped by digital technologies. Textile emerges as an autonomous expressive field, capable of questioning hierarchies and engaging with themes of memory, tradition and contemporaneity. Fibres, textures and weaving processes are approached as tools that redefine spatial and relational dynamics.

Conceived as a cumulative and open-ended narrative, the exhibition unfolds through twelve chapters, constructing a layered exploration of textile practices in Italy today.
