Photosequences

Osart Gallery, Milan presents the collective exhibition Photosequences, a selection of 10 different photographic series by ten different artists between the years of 1969 and 1979. By Vito Acconci, Vincenzo Agnetti, Peter Hutchinson, Duane Michals, Dennis Oppenheim, Gina Pane, Mario Schifano and Aldo Tagliaferro.

The exhibition explores the photographic medium and the notion of sequence. As well as animating the image, it provides a narrative rhythm, transforming into a form of storytelling.

Although the artists represented in the show, came from different artistic movements, they all used the photo sequence to tell something about themselves, their loved ones and their ideas with out excluding the spectator, allowing him an active rather than contemplative role.
