Project Room: Francesca Gabbiani

The Project Room at the art gallery Monica De Cardenas in Milan, hosts the solo exhibition of the Italian-Swiss artist Francesca Gabbiani, working across paper collage. Living in Los Angeles, the artist investigated the primal element of fire on the occasion of the tremendous fires that devasted the city. Now she focuses on water: she portrays female figures of different ethnic groups while surfing in the ocean. Through the exploration of a typical male sport, she addresses gender and racial issues.
