Rear Window. Glimpses of Private Collections

Curated by Luca Massimo Barbero, “Rear Window. Glimpses of Private Collections” (“La Finestra sul Cortile. Scorci di Collezioni Private”) explores the idea of private collectors by establishing a dialogue between artworks from different Italian contemporary art collections – the Panza di Biumo Collection and the Berlingieri Collection – and the permanent oeuvres of the Galleria d’Arte Moderna.

By weaving unusual connections between modern, contemporary and nineteenth century artists, this exhibition collects different events into a bigger narrative that defines the visitor’s “field of vision” recalling the atmospheres of Hitchcock’s famous film “Rear Window”, from which the exhibit borrows its title.
