Refik Anadol: Reinassance Dreams

During Milan Design Week 2026, MEET Digital Culture Center serves as the central hub of the Porta Venezia Design District. This year’s concept, “Design is Act”, is drawn from Tomás Maldonado’s vision of design as ethical and cultural responsibility, placing memory at the core of the creative act. Within this framework, the venue presents “Renaissance Dreams”, a permanent AI installation. Italian paintings, sculptures, texts, and architecture from 1300 to 1600 are processed through GAN algorithms, generating a continuously shifting immersive landscape of shapes, colours, and sound. The archive becomes action, where creative knowledge is transformed into living sensory matter.
