Robert Wilson: Mother
“Mother”, featuring music by Arvo Pärt, is an installation at the Museo Pietà Rondanini – Castello Sforzesco, presented in collaboration with Comune di Milano | Cultura and curated by Franco Laera.
Respecting the installation designed in 2015 by Michele De Lucchi in the Ospedale Spagnolo, Wilson’s work engages with the theme of the ‘unfinished’ and establishes a dramaturgical dialogue with the “Stabat Mater”, a medieval prayer set to music by Arvo Pärt.
The installation consists of a 30-minute sequence of music, light, and imagery, accessible by reservation via the Castello Sforzesco ticket office. A live performance of “Stabat Mater” will be presented by the ensemble Vox Clamantis, conducted by Jaan-Eick Tulve, alongside La Risonanza, conducted by Fabio Bonizzoni.
