Sacha Kanah: Sleep Starts

Clima presents “Sleep Starts”, the first solo exhibition at the gallery by Italian artist Sacha Kanah (1981, Milan).

“Sleep Starts” investigates how organic matter can occupy space to outline living organisms. The works on display are transparent, weightless sculptures formed by a kelp membrane, appearing as holes made in water at the height of their growth.

The structure and density of these sculptures are determined by the physical and chemical conditions of their water environment. Water, understood as a formal archive, is used to generate these embryonic forms.
