Swing, Bop & Free

Via Bergognone 34, Milan, Italy

A photographic story in 100 images on the great jazz of Sixties. With the show “Swing, Bop and Free”, Roberto Polillo remembers his father Arrigo, the most important historian of the jazz in Italy, manager for decades of the magazine Music Jazz and author of the most famous history of jazz written in our country. To commission the immages to Roberto Polillo was the father himself, also the organizer of the most important jazz concerts of the epoch.

Exposed on the occasion of the Jazzmi festival, the show tells about that “age of gold” of jazz music, the period in which the musicians who codified the kind, as Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Charles Mingus and John Coltrane, there were still active.
