Thomas Jeppe: Market
Circolo UltraFiorucci, a new cultural space in Milan, launches with an exclusive exhibition by Thomas Jeppe, curated by The Community.
“Market” unfolds as a large-scale installation that blends painting, photography, video, and sound. Rooted in the artist’s signature engagement with sociocultural tropes, the exhibition transforms the gallery into a marketplace of visual and auditory interactions.
The exhibition features four market stalls showcasing the multi-channel video “2am Runway”, which reflects on nighttime rhythms and the interplay of anonymity and spectacle. Alongside these, new paintings from Jeppe’s ongoing series “Tumult” depict fragmented skies drawn from recent news imagery. These atmospheric works are displayed against wall-sized posters of Parisian nocturnal street scenes, creating a dialogue between global turbulence and local intimacy.
A soundtrack composed by French musician Philippe Hallais (also known as Low Jack) accompanies the installation, immersing visitors in Jeppe’s vivid and hallucinatory vision of cosmopolitan dynamics.
