Vitriol: Dorfles Drawings, 2016

Gillo Dorfles is presenting his recent drawings at La Triennale di Milano with an exhibition titled “Vitriol”, a character he first presented in 2010. Vitriol is an acronym that stays for “Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Invenies Occultum Lapidem”, which is the true medicine.

As stated by Dorfles, in dialogue with Aldo Colonetti and Luigi Sansone, “some of my drawings come from the unconscious, and face the sheet of paper through the figurative elements which obviously arise from a state of consciousness, not rationalized”.
