David Hockney: People, Places & Things

The Walker Art Center presents David Hockney's solo exhibition "People, Places & Things".

Walker Art Center, 1750 Hennepin Avenue

David Hockney‘s solo exhibition “People, Places & Things” aims to show the artistic evolution of one of the most celebrated British artists of his generation. The exhibition gathers together several works, including portraits of the artist’s close friends and family, a selection of domestic scenes and a range of landscapes depicting views from the Hollywood Hills to Mexico to the English countryside.

The highlight of the exhibition is an ambitious set design that was part of the 1983 Walker Art Center exhibition “Hockney Paints the Stage“. The suggestive scenography – that demonstrates Hockney’s strong engagement with literature and the theatre – is on view for the first time in nearly 40 years.
