ART N MORE

The graphic designer Paul Bowler and painter Georg Weißbach have been working as the collective “ART N MORE” since 2013. Their multimedia installations include painting, video, print and text-based wall pieces which make use of popular visual idioms.

Advertising, as well as selfies, and their role in social-media are central reference points. Empty catchphrases from daily occurrences and specifically devised slogans are spread across popular networks, using content and form tactics reminiscent of marketing strategies and estranged interpersonal communications. Their humorous approach plays with the possible misunderstandings inherent in self-marketing and self-presentation techniques as artistic praxis, whilst continually shifting between critical observation and an utter mergence therewith. The border between staging and authenticity seems to blur.
