Valeria Apicella: Care

“Care” is a journey into the senses, a space where inhibitions and preset expectations that shape our reality are dropped.
Five performers inhabit the church, forming an idle community for two weeks. Their presence is an invitation: a cushion to rest on and trust in, to let go of something within ourselves – whether it be our body, a word, or a drawing.
The installation is a collection of works, consisting of a fabric print, a body in action, a video, a sound device, smoke, and four spaces where the audience is guided by the artists of “Care” through a Ceremony of Deposition.
The bodies at rest and their companions form shifting sculptural groups that challenge perceptions of movement and stillness, continuously revealing the boundary between the visible and the invisible.
