Cho Gi-Seok: Coexistence

Fotografiska Museum in New York presents “Coexistence“, Cho Gi-Seok‘s first solo exhibition. The core concept of this exhibition is the coexistence of opposites, which Gi-Seok approaches with brilliant creativity. Featuring artworks realized between 2018 and 2021, this exhibition sheds a light on the ambiguity of beauty, the ambivalence of opposites’ coexistence.

The young and talented Seoul-based artist imagines fantastic portraits filled with purity and symbolism, almost mental images constituted by a perfect harmony and compositional balance. In many of his works, Gi-Seok combines the human body and flowers, creating extremely surprising images, elegant and uncanny at the same time.
