Perrotin, New York, hosts the solo exhibition of artist Michael Sailstorfer, named “Tear Show”. Sailstorfer primarily works in sculpture and installation, as well as in painting, performance, photography and film. His sculptural practice is driven by a conceptual aesthetic, which aims to connect the work with the surrounding space. Working in very different dimensions, from tiny interventions to very complex ones, he creates absurd visions, in which everyday objects are totally diverted from their original functions. His works are often dynamic and explore intangible qualities such as smell, sound, energy and light, allowing the artist to introduce temporality and life into his oeuvre.
