Hit! Palermo

Rizzuto Gallery, Via Maletto, 5

HIT!, is the itinerant micro-fair where host galleries invite galleries from other cities to their spaces – free of charge and with no constraints on the choice of works and artists – in order to create a network of collaborations with a view to reciprocity and space sharing. The aim is to go beyond the traditional fair model, sharing exhibition spaces to respond to the need to exhibit outside one’s own venue.

Based on an idea by Eva Oliveri and Giovanni Rizzuto, of RizzutoGallery in Palermo, the first edition of this nomadic, shared, exotic, sustainable and small art fair invited Studio la Città from Verona, GallleriaPiù from Bologna and Lunetta11 from Mombarcaro (CN).

Rizzutogallery hosts and participates in Hit! with four artists from the gallery: Daniele Franzella, Francesca Polizzi, Antonio Catelani and Mattia Barbieri. While the Veronese Studio la Città participates in this new exhibition format by presenting works by six artists. Three of them are considered ‘the great classics’ of the gallery: Lucio Fontana, Pierpaolo Calzolari and Enrico Castellani. The other three are artists who have worked with the gallery since the 1990s and who represent its international and cosmopolitan attitude: Emil Lukas, Stuart Arends and Jacob Hashimoto.
GallleriaPiù brings to Palermo the works of Vincenzo Simone, whose artistic research is driven by an absolute dedication to painting and its timeless language. Finally, Lunetta11 participates in the fair with the works of Edoardo Manzoni, whose research develops from the rural context with an interest in themes such as the natural and the artificial, the human and the animal.

Helga Marsala, art critic and curator, who will lead guided tours of the Hit! ‘stands’ on Friday 24 June and Saturday 25 June at 7 p.m. for an unmissable journey through the artists and works on show, led by one of the most lucid, passionate and authoritative critical voices the city can boast. The gallery will be open from 4pm to 10pm over the weekend.
