Charles Gaines – Grids: Numbers and Trees III, and Palm Trees II

“Grids: Numbers and Trees III, and Palm Trees II” is the first gallery exhibition by Charles Gaines in the space of Galerie Max Hetzler, Paris.

Inspired by the work of John Cage, Sol Lewitt’s, German conceptual artist Hanne Darboven, the Los Angeles based mainly deals with conceptual art. Works on view are “Numbers and Trees”, a project started in 1985, and the “Walnut Tree Orchard” series (1975-2014) where the artist first studied the tree as a subject.
