Corentin Grossmann
Corentin Grossmann, born in 1980 in Metz, France, and currently based in Brussels, draws on diverse iconographic influences in his artistic universe. His work blends medieval painting with popular arts, album covers, and 3D modelling. Inspired by artists like Hieronymus Bosch and Brueghel the Elder, Grossmann’s complex compositions juxtapose seemingly unrelated elements, often surreal and dreamlike, yet rooted in reality. His work incorporates references to global events, such as the 2011 Haiti earthquake, and broader phenomena linked to globalisation. Grossmann’s unique, poetic approach merges light-hearted and serious themes, presenting them without hierarchy. His work has been featured at institutions like Fondation Carmignac, Wiels, and Palais de Tokyo.
