Des gestes de nos mondes
Presented in partnership with 32Bis in Tunis, the exhibition considers the archive not as a fixed record of the past but as a space in which histories can be reinterpreted, displaced and brought back into circulation. Bringing together works from the Frac Île-de-France collection with works by artists based in Tunisia or originating from the southern Mediterranean, it focuses on fragments, omissions, personal memories and everyday gestures that complicate dominant narratives. Documents, photographs, video, ceramics and textiles become active materials through which stories are reconstructed and transformed. The exhibition also considers the Mediterranean as a space shaped by movement, languages, memories and conflicting imaginaries, questioning who has the authority to speak and from which perspective. Existing works are presented alongside new productions by Aymen Mbarki and Ahmed Ben Nessib, developed during a residency at Fondation Fiminco. In this context, the archive becomes a practice of the present: rather than closing history, it keeps it open to new readings, voices and forms.
