Ėglė Budvytytė: Warm Blooded and Earthbound

Lithuanian artist Ėglė Budvytytė presents her first solo exhibition in France curated by Céline Poulin at the Frac Île-de-France as part of the France-Lithuanie season. Known for her exploration of the intersection between visual and performing arts, Budvytytė’s work spans song, poetry, video, and performance. The exhibition centers on a new video filmed in various Lithuanian landscapes, inspired by the research of Lithuanian archaeologist Marija Gimbutas on matrilineal societies. This poetic and speculative piece translates archaeological findings, such as clay figurines and temple remains, into intimate choreographies, exploring the connection between land, body, and collectivity.
